About
Rare Frequency
Power. Broadcast Power.
Rare Frequency is a radio show, podcast, and website devoted to experimental, electronic, improv, noise, avant-pop, and other unusual music. The radio program is broadcast (and streamed over the web) every Thursday from 7-10pm EST on WZBC Newton 90.3 FM. Over the years, the show has featured performances by musicians, deejays, and sound artists from Boston and around the world. Check out the RF podcast section to find recordings of past performances.
The show and podcasts are produced and hosted by Susanna Bolle, who also writes, edits, and maintains the site. She is a freelance music critic and multimedia journalist, who has been known to write the odd article and/or review for publications such as the Boston Phoenix, Dusted, Grooves, Signal to Noise, XLR8R, and the Weekly Dig. She also co-curates the experimental music series Non-Event and enjoys writing about herself in the third person.
